Okay, so. Back in February, I posted a fic named a bridge of birds, in which Baze and Chirrut have these tattoos. And Jay managed to completely capture just how they look like in my head. LOOK AT THAT HERON ON CHIRRUT’S BACK. LOOK AT THE COLOURS. LOOK AT THE STYLE. THAT’S CHINESE INK BRUSH PAINTING. LOOK AT JAY’S AMAZING TALENT. Then the lightning flowers on Baze’s arm, which manages to look exactly like lightning flowers and yet are obviously tattoos because they stand out so much and!!! /screams.
And then their pose! It just is so soft, so intimate, the two of them holding each other so tenderly and I am still screaming. Baze’s pudge! Their skin colours, holy shit. Jiang Wen is very dark – like southern Chinese manual labourer dark in terms of Chineseness – and I just love how tanned he is because. /screams more. And then Chirrut’s golden skin and the burns on his arms and I’m????
