this isn’t a full list by any means (just the ones i was able to hear) but! here it is!

• skids and nautica were very close friends but NOT romantically interested in each other. jro specifically used aromantic to describe them, and said they loved each other but only as friends
• kaon and agent 113 were close before 113 was busted, and kaon’s affection saved 113 from having a ‘worse fate’ than just beign turned into the pet. there was also something about codependency but i didn’t catch exactly what he was saying :’l
• jro would rather fight one overlord-sized tailgate than one hundred tailgate-sized overlords. he said this question will haunt his dreams for weeks
• originally, ambulon would be swearing CONSTANTLY. like ‘absolutely filthy’ language, 80s asterisks, the whole thing. 
• ambulon and first aid had a lot of surface tension, but were affectionate towards each other
• (my question!) pipes was attracted to riptide (jro said he ticks off about 8 of pipes’ ridiculously long list of what he wants in a partner). if pipes had lived, he would’ve gone with drift’s recommendation and asked tailgate out.

I can add more!

* The bit about codependency was that the DJD had internally developed it to some degree, and had to hide it to present the facade of an emotionless, murderous revenge squad.

* There is a spine to the multi-year plot of MTMTE/LL and there is a particular ending in mind.

* Still, some details were not planned for. Megatron becoming an Autobot, for instance.

* The Shadowplay plot came around because Hasbro liked what was going on in the comic but wanted more Optimus Prime. So, it was a chance to make a story about how the team got together. An unplanned addition was Shockwave’s origin.

* Whirl’s recent attempt at clockmaking was the first time he’d tried since his empurata.

* Kaon was always going to be Glitch and he was never Roller.

* A great plea was “Why can’t the gays be happy?!?” JRo explained that Cybertron is pretty much a homonormative (I believe that’s the word he used) society, so there are a lot of same-sex couples, but because the story involves drama and conflict, it’s inevitable that those couples will run into problems. But, some of them will turn out all right and others, not so much.

* Deathsaurus and his crew will return! Unlike many of the Decepticon villains, Desu is meant to be a competent, balanced personality. The fight on Necroworld was a terrible time for him, creating self-doubt in his leadership. Before that, though, he’d been busily cyberforming planets with his warworld and he is very good at it.

* The main story arc is really Rodimus’s story. Even when Megatron steals the spotlight, there’s components of how Rodimus reacts to it. Rodimus is one of the most self-aware members of the crew. He is anxious about his failings and knows he can do better, and plays up his charisma to compensate.

* Tailgate’s arc and current fate have always been planned for.

* In JRo’s mind, all the characters have British accents.
