So Riptide says that Getaway did in fact call the DJD. Knowing what we know now about who Getaway is as a person/leader, I can believe that he would get the DJD involved. We also know he called the Galactic Council which is understandable. He probably thought that if one group couldn’t take out Megatron then the other could. But this creates a bit of a problem.
Getaway was there during the Slaughterhouse story arc. The DJD killed everyone on the second lost light (minus Rewind). He saw what the DJD are capable of so he knows that if he sent them after Rodimus and crew they would likely all be killed. Getaway is a lot of things but I don’t think he’s stupid. He had to have known making deals with the most notoriously lethal gang of decepticons will not end with you being able to pick and choose who you want to survive. This probably means that Getaway either wanted the whole rod squad dead or he’d just see them as acceptable losses in the pursuit of getting rid of Megatron.
Then there’s this
If Getaway wanted the autobots to die or didn’t care whether or not they survived, then why would he waste his time getting verbal confirmation from the Galactic Council that they would not hurt the other autobots? And if he wanted the autobots to survive, then why would he risk calling in the DJD?
