I did a seminar report about malaria years ago. I remember Bill Gates founds research for better malaria drugs or vaccine. It’s a good thing that Bill Gates is willing to put money on the topic because drug resistance of Plasmodium is a very serious threat in epidemic areas and they either have developed or starting to develop resistance to most, if not all available drugs. But no rich western research facilities want to found the malaria research anymore because they don’t colonize malaria epidemic countries anymore so they don’t care.
