I wonder if you can help me understand some of the military chain of command issues? It’s regarding Poe. I know he’s demoted, but he’s still the leader of his x-wing squad. And by the time he challenged Holdo, he’s supposed to be the leader of all the surviving pilots. Does that make him the air commander of the fleet, and by function still a high-rank officer despite his demoted rank?

The Resistance does almost nothing that makes sense.

Poe really should have been arrested for disobeying orders which got lots of people killed and been sitting in the brig for the rest of the movie.

His standing in the air fleet is pretty much 1) civilians writing military 2) main character blanket of safety 3) plot device to show how desperate or how disorganized the Resistance is.

Sorry I can’t give you a better answer but none really exist. I guess he’s the high commander ??? But why I have no idea.

Since even the professional doesn’t think it make sense, than I can simply let it go and give up arguing with it XDD It’s frustrating when the characters don’t look good because the plot needs them to be like that rather than their character flaw and conflict (what the scene should be about/was intended?)

The Resistance won’t work good even if it’s just a civil organization running business. Imagine: I am the head manager of a company that is about to broke, the IRS is on our tail, our chairman is in the ICU because of a car accident, and when I ask the CEO “what should we do to save the company?”, the CEO just tell me to shut up. Also, I see the CEO transferring the remaining company founds to unknown accounts.

I’ll quit the job on spot. No wonder no one answered Leia’s call. Because no one wants to invest in a losing business.
