Jackie Chan’s daughter is a super aesthetic lesbian with a super aesthetic girlfriend 💕
her name is Etta Ng and she doesn’t like being referred to as Jackie Chan’s daughter.
Chan has had no part in raising her and is openly ashamed of her very existence, as she was born from an extramarital affair he had.
in her own words: “He never existed in my life. I will never regard him as a father.”
also, while i’m glad she’s come out, her partner is 30 while she’s only 18 and i’m always nervous about age gaps like that. i just hope she’s safe.
Stop the Jackie Chan slander he’s a saint.
…..how is stating the truth “slander.”
Jackie Chan cheated on his wife and got another woman pregnant. rather than step up, he refused to have a part in his child’s life and is openly ashamed that she exists. he provided financial support for a time, but that doesn’t fix his absence and resentment. he punished his child for his own mistakes.
other things he’s done:
admitted to beating his son and said that children need to be hit to be punished–“I’ve always believed kids need to be smacked to be disciplined. Parents discipline kids in the hope they can avoid making more mistakes, especially those I’ve made when I was young. If you only speak to a kid about it, he won’t listen.” he also stated that he’s not a good father, but that’s okay because he’s strict and responsible (???).
just… all of this. (i don’t usually link to buzzfeed as a source, but the article itself includes citations).
apparently her gf was like 29 when she started dating Etta who was about 16/17 at the time so don’t support this pedo bs either
LOL you westerners know nothing about Jackie Chen
Jackie Chen’s reputation dropped dramatically after his affair in chinese-culture countries (China, Taiwan, Hong Kong).
Not only it’s a huge moral tint in the chinese culture to have an
illegitimate child, but also his wife, 林鳳嬌, is a very famous actress back in the days, but she gave up her career and retreated herself from public completely to be a “good wife”, a common thing for actress who got married at that time. So it made Jackie Chen’s affair looked even more terrible.
And that’s not the last straw. His most infamous moment is that during the press meeting about his affair, he said he only “made a mistake that all men would make", which is… simply terrible lmao
He even legally deny being the sire of the child, and his daughter has no legally registered father on her ID paper, and the child is using her mother’s surname,
which would traditionally be considered a huge stain because people would know you are an illegitimate child.
So not only did Jackie Chen didn’t raise the child, he gave no legal identity to his own daughter which means he wants nothing to do with her, which is a terribly irresponsible thing to do as a man (in traditional chinese culture). Which also means no money. I think he paid to shut the mother up once? But nothing at all afterward.
And to all westerners:
Don’t slap you western “abusive” label on older generation chinese parents who say they beat their children… just don’t. We had very different ideas about teaching the children. In the old times, beating means training. While it’s outdated and younger generation chinese parents don’t use beating as the way to teach their children (praise westernization for once), you westerners shouldn’t accuse our parents for what our old culture made them. Most of them are not “abusive (in your western standard)”.
While Jackie Chen’s way of teaching is outdated, but he himself is the product of beating for training– he grew up in a martial art training court, and they beat their pupils, usually poor kids or orphans, even harder than your normal chinese parents. Their master had to beat them harder so that they can learn marital art faster, harder, and better, because they live a harsh live and that could be literally their only mean of living when they grow up, so it’s all about survival, not beating the children for fun (martial art masters don’t train children like that nowadays of course)
In any case, to call the chinese way of education wrong and to change it for better is us younger generation’s duty, and our own. Not you westerners who know nothing about our culture.
