This Thanksgiving, don’t forget to honor Native American Heritage Month

In making plans to celebrate Thanksgiving, don’t forget: November is also Native American Heritage Month. Observing it won’t undo the atrocities that occurred over the past few centuries — or the current threats to Native Americans and their lands, such as the proposed Dakota Access Pipeline — but recognizing and celebrating those who were here first and are now marginalized is an important step in moving things forward. Especially if you missed Native American Day.

It’s out!

I illustrated for Disney’s MULAN book “Mulan’s Lunar New Year”, (you can see the book here!) a children’s book about little Mulan spending Lunar New Year with her family.

It’s my first book and I want to share some illustrations  😀 [*will also have this book at my table at CTNx 2018 this year on display at T55!]

Looking back, there are lots that I want to improve on the crafting of my drawings for this book, but overall… I’m really glad I get to illustrate and to remember the joy and excitement I had celebrating Lunar New Years and lighting fireworks with my parents as a kid.

It was pretty magical.

friendly reminder to everyone in america: Dont Eat Romaine Lettuce

midnie:

this just in: romaine lettuce carries the e. coli virus and you will Fuckign DIE!

The health alert spans across the following states as a precaution: California, Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio, Maryland, Illinois, New York, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut and New Jersey.

Throw it out.

E. coli is a bacteria, not virus. All healthy people have E. coli up in their ass living in symbiosis (heh). But if food was contaminated (by literal shit or other sources) and you eat E. coli, it can sause serious disease.
