Prompt: Parasite

symbrock-darling:

Here’s a prompt request for @blueemopotato1 who wanted a depressed Venom and an Eddie who cheers him up. I was inspired by the Planet of the Symbiotes comic arc, and so I applied it here. I hope you enjoy!

Rating: G

Word Count: ~1500

“Why are you always so uptight about being called a parasite?”

Venom writhed at the word, but since Eddie hadn’t used it actively against him this time, he let it slide this once. If barely.

“I hate the word,” Venom replied reluctantly. “I hate its meaning. It implies that I only take and I don’t give back, which isn’t true.”

That was part of it, at least. It was a reason why he hated the word.

“But that’s not it, is it? Not all of it, anyway,” Eddie pressed. “I can feel it, Vee. You’re holding back.”

It’s the Adventures of Bryan & Amelia & Connor & Hank!

On Nov 3 I visited WePlay Shanghai where Bryan and Amelia were the special guests! I gave them a hardcover story book and got them to sign a copy for myself! I hope they like it? LOL

My Venom comics reading progress:

  • Venom: Lethal Protector (1993)

Venom met and saved the underground people. MPreg. Must read to understand the basic characterization and setting up of Venom as an anti-hero.

  • Venom: Funeral Pyre (1993)

Venom and the Punisher being two hot-headed dumbass.

  • Venom: Deathtrap: The Vault (1993)

They need Venom to be the villian to let the Avenger and the Freedom Force shine. Venom ruthlessly killed two (or more) guardsmen held as hostage. Not really fit into his anti-hero actions in the previous series.

  • Venom: The Madness (1993-1994)

Venom got into a gangbang. They almost got more than they could handle.
Eddie serious got his mind fucked bad.

Demons from other dimention wanted to join the gangbang. Venom outlast everyone. I’m not even kidding.

  • Venom: Enemy Within (1994)

The unexpected Holoween Special.

  • Venom: The Mace (1994)

Introduction of the new character The Mace. Even though the dude didn’t really show up in any other future Marvel comics.

  • Venom: Nights of Vengeance (1994)

Not every alien parasite is boyfriend material.

  • Venom: Seperation Anxiety (1994-1995)

Why is Eddie back into jail again? No one knows (maybe it’s because of some Spiderman event but I didn’t read the Spiderman titled comics). The symbiote babies are back.

Update: I think I’m a fast reader lmao

  • Venom: Spider-Man Special Edition: Trial of Venom (1992)

Story after
Venom: Deathtrap: The Vault (1993). Daredevil became the public defender of Eddie Brock. He asked Spiderman as the material witness. An interesting read with good story telling for a one shot.

  • Venom: Carnage Unleashed (1995)

Good story. Even though it’s full of the early 90′s techno fantasy nonsense. Pretty sure internet doesn’t work that way lmao.

  • Amazing Spider-Man: Super Special: Planet of the Symbiotes

    (1995)

It took place somewhere after Seperation Anxiety. Must read to get to know the background of Venom symbiote. I think it also set up the symbiote more as an actual character. Eddie started to actually talk with it, at least as shown in the comic, so the reader can see more of the symbiote’s input and thoughts. Also very gay.

  • Venom: Sinner Takes All (1995)

It picked up loose ends from Carnage Unleashed. I’m not sure what’s the chronological order of Seperation Anxiety/Trail of Venom, Planet of the Symbiotes, and Carnage Unleashed/Sinner Takes All. But anyway, this is also a good story. Ann showed up in this story too.

Update 2018/11/17

  • Venom:
    Along Came a Spider (1996)

Took place after Sinner Takes All and Planet of the Symbiotes. A decent story where Ann and Eddie have to deal with the consequences from Sinner Takes All. It’s tragic that the police forced Ann to lure Eddie and Eddie simply wanted to get her out but somehow made things worse. I can tell they do care about each other despite already devorced. Spiderman showed up (hence the title) but the focus is not on him.

  • Venom: The Hunted (1996)

First appearance of the symbiotes’ predator: phage. Venom mistook as serial killer. Scream/Donna Diego is in it too.

  • Venom: The Hunger (1996)

Dude, you are not in the Venom comic fandom if you haven’t read this lmao (joking) The famous heart-shaped chocolate “live happily ever after”
♥The End♥ mini series. Where it’s introduced that the symbiote feeds on PEA.

Personally I love the slightly insane writing style.

  • Venom:
    On Trial (1997)

Eddie Brock face trial again. Matt Murdock is his lawyer again. Carnage is (one of) the witness. The US government is shady as hell.

  • Venom: License To Kill (1997)

Venom is an angel. The US government is garbage and will nuke the USA coast whenever things don’t go according to their plan. Also. Soviet giant robot. Did I say nuke? The writer must be on drugs writing this because there is a notably increase of bad oneliner.

Venom: License To Kill is such a ride

Preveious story: Venom was taken straight out of the court to become a tool of the US government.

(read more because there’s too much nonsense)

Kink shamed by a terrorist.

Happy Venom is adorable.

Planting a thermite bomb inside of a prisoner who is very cooperative because he actually thinks he is doing good thing.

UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. SUCH JUSTICE.

Who bought that boxer to Eddie?

He’s cute, he’s wearing blue sandles XDDDDDD

Former Soviet terrorist with a… robot… because of course.

When dealing with the Soviet, always uses the NUKE.

How perceptive.

Soviet… cyborg… women who hate capitalism. Sure.

“Rhetoric spouting bimbos with blades” replace blades with fangs and you are talking about yourself, Mr. Brock.

“-what you keep in your wonder bras!”

Missles I guess?

WHY? (On a second thought, Ghost In The Shell: Innocence was out in 1995, maybe that’s why there’s so many weird japanese robot/cybog shits in here)

The soviet terrorist’s son actually saved the day by pullinga Pacific Rim and took the nuke to an ocean trench WHO WOULD HAVE GUESSED.

Can the americans in comic books clam down with the nuke?

“YEEE-HA!”

Cute Eddie. He deserve better people.

Things to unpack in these panels:

  • Watching Passion of the Christ is canonically the reason Eddie broke up with his symbiote (I can’t even). So remember kids, just say no to Jesus torture porn.
  • Someone needs to slap Eddie for talking about his beloved life partner that way.
  • Mister auctioneer, it’s okay. You don’t have to hide behind talk of symbiosis, you can just say they’re in love.

Soooooo this is canon:
Jim Caviezel

is too hot for Eddie Brock’s disaster bi ass to handle and he’s having a crisis and cancer.
