headcanon: chirrut + baze actually loved cassian’s ‘now you’re just his guardian’ line and now:

• they keep quoting it at each other/cassian
• (chirrut will emphasise the word just and act all offended)
• chirrut affectionately calls baze ‘my guardian’ (his other pet names of the moment include ‘my love’ and ‘oy scruffy’)
• when baze doesn’t want to do something he’ll say ‘sorry i have to stay here and guard my chirrut’
• when ppl ask them if they’re together and baze is like ‘oh no no i’m just his guardian’ while chirrut strokes his hair.
