Here’s an AU: the one to escape was Venom. The one to hop from body to body in search of Life Foundation was Venom. He found that possessing people with no family, no friends is easier on him so he starts picking homeless people. He doesn’t like humanity from the eyes of the homeless. Until Maria that is. Until he sees Eddie. After that, Venom just kind of delays his mission and starts observing Eddie whenever he stops by. He falls in love and Maria knows before he does. She plays matchmaker.

Okay I really like this idea, especially one where Maria gets, like, a happier ending, but can this also mean that she’s literally the mediator for their first couple of dates?      Like she’s doing her usual half-flirtatious thing with Eddie and the newspapers, but then Venom decides that he wants in on it and like, encourages Maria to try to follow Eddie, or to get to know more about him, and Maria is like “um, why not just…..speak to him?” 

Or or or or or Maria introduces Eddie to Venom, like, out of sight or something, and the three of them have this weird moment of “….well what now” and Venom just decides to go into Eddie (causing of course The Most amount of panic possible because he’s truly a Dramatique Gay™) and then Eddie gets to live with Venom for a little bit, to which Maria is like “yeah if you don’t want him anymore, like, let me take him back but I think that you could, like, enjoy this” 

And of course we all know what happens from there
