Del Toro got the Japanese mecha/super hero genre right, adopted the style in a hollywood movie with respect.

PR2 lost the style, became another transformers/power ranger live action movie, total disrespect of the previous characters (huge spoiler, pm me if anyone is interested)

And because Wanda bought Legendary, so yeah, they forced Jing Tian into the movie to be the uwu **main actress** uwu and it’s simply embarrassing (also, spoilers about the movie).

But if you don’t care about the style in PR1, I guess it’s just another popcorn movie?

In short, this is not Pacific Rim.
