we hungarians adore the shit out of tulips, they are a permanent symbol in our crafts since a long time now, but they’re nothing amazing in my personal opinion. gotta admit tho a full flower field of them is impressive looking!

I love all the hibernation flower because we don’t really have them in my subtropical country (except Chinese Sacred Lily since it’s a tradition to buy them during Chinese New Year). Seeing them poping out of dirt in spring is really cool

he’ll be okay in the end but yeeah, its kinda weird that you reading the magazines contribute to time spent. i guess they only considered those for players who are aiming to get Platinum, but idk truly.

HE ACTUALLY SAW HANK’S SON’S NAME. I THOUGHT HE GOT A LUCKY GUESS!

But I am glad to see him being happy seeing the good ending.

i came to realize that the scene is very much dependent on the player’s level of empathy/how much they are capable of putting themselves in someone else’s shoes. The game outright tells you with the high propability of Hank’s survival rate that he WILL survive the fall. but it doesnt tell you that there are emotional repercussions for not doing so. its not like no game did this before but its certainly interesting storytelling.

It is really amusing to see different people’s instinct decision when they first play through this game. It’s like a small psychology evaluation.

I am so surprised by people who ere aiming for “deviant” Connor would choose the not save option because you should always choose the save your partner choice in an A or B situation so that your partner will like you more, it’s not even an emotional choice for me because there’s only one logical choice to role play a deviant Connor. Guess I was playing a sympathetic machine Conner in the first time, since I pretty much shot everyone else who was a threat (except the Tracis because I know that’s a trick question and I want to please Hank)

Or my Conner was head over heel for Hank at the first sight of him lol

replied to your post “I am watching jacksepticeye‘s Detroit Become Human play through. He is…”

i can also recommend watching Jesse Cox, he basically did a pure pacifist run. saved the cop on the balcony, 100% friendship status with hank from the get.go, etc, he’s awesome. Jack is adorable in his own way too tho!

I think people who did a pure pacifist run is pretty impressive since it’s more risky because Markus’ life is more depending on outside forces, unlike the violent route where you can simply fight through it (in the game at least lol)

The one thing that possibly bothers me about “deviancy” in D:BH is that once a bot becomes deviant, the task descriptions never change. The whole thing about deviancy is that the individual becomes self-aware, but the code still says things as “protect Alice” and not “‘I’ need to protect Alice”, its “Find thing to smash thing with” and not “‘I’ need to find thing”. Connor becoming deviant is so well shown by him taking a gasp and the line “I am deviant" appearing, why not continue with that.

I haven’t thought of this! This is a subtle thing in english but yeah,
I did got the shock of Connor’s line

but didn’t notice it’s because of the “I” in that sentence. Once you pointed that out, the significance is huge.

My biggest problem about deviancy is how the general population of android simply being switched from mindless robotic servant of human to mindless robotic servant of Markus. They don’t show any struggle or confusion or any actual emotion except the same drone like “follow Markus and yell freedom slogan” behavior. It sort of ruined the mood. Even Bryan said it’s over-simplified when he played the part (bless him and Amelia). Personally, I’d like the game focus more on individuals since you can’t possibly write event of such a huge scale in 1/3 of the story line in one game. And I’d like to see the differences between different models. It would be interesting to see not every model has the same level of self-awareness. I think models whose original function is to interact with human can reach self-awareness more easy, but those who don’t probably don’t have the hardware and/or software complex enough to be self aware. It can also explain the difference between Kara’s more code-like inner thought, while Connor’s clear conscious of “I”, and it’s a great way to explore where the line of “become human” blurs.
