But when Venom tried to “do his thing” by defenestrating Jameson (saved by Spiderman, of course), the US government was like “nooooo we mean to scare him not to murder him” and think Venom is too unstable to control so they decided to simply set off the explosive they implanted in Eddie’s chest to kill him.
