Here’s something I’ve been sitting on for a while that I’ve been so eager to share. It was fun to write and explore a more vulnerable Mrs. Chen. I hope you enjoy it!

With how clean the streets were getting these days thanks to a certain black alien and his tater tot eating host, Mrs. Chen had been more confident about going out in the evenings. Not that she hadn’t been in the first place, but it was nice to feel safer than usual as she walked around the city, especially in areas she tended to avoid. She still clutched her purse to her side just in case, but her hand didn’t automatically twitch down toward her pepper spray these days.
Now that she was facing the muzzle of a gun, she grudgingly realized she’d become perhaps a little too comfortable.
like, we have already noted this, and marveled over it, but I’m going to say it again because I just can’t get over it: these two fucking idiots just locked it in the bathroom and blocked the door with a fucking dresser. I can’t
It is ironic that the 2018 Movie Venom Universe made a completely new background story and set-up for the movie format but still manage to understand and keep some of the more important things that defines Eddie Brock as a character, such as his sense of (self) rightous and his goal-oriented mindset, while most of the post 90′s writers completely missed the point and wrote him either as a psychopath or a religious maniac.
I don’t trust the writer enough to be too emotionally involved but if we take what’s shown in the comic at face value, Carl Brock is even worse than I thought and I need Eddie Brock to adopt his little brother (whose age can be his son for Knull’s sake).
However, the total denial of Mary Brock by Carl Brock looks tricky. Either the old man is in complete denail, or there’s something fishy about him. Or he is a fake. Which means Dylan is a fake too. And the whole thing is just someone or some organization tricking Eddie for something.
If it turns out that this whole ordeal is just in Eddie’s head, that he is in some kind of mind palace simulation, I will be very upset.
When Mike Costa wrote the worst Transformers comic in it’s 30+ year history, he sure loved to use those edgy references of darkness. Now I see the same pattern here…

If this whole thing is not a conspiracy (the dad is a clone? the brother is a clone? It’s an alien setup? don’t tell me it’s all Eddie’s dream) then Eddie’s father is still a child abuser.
