Venom: The Hunger (1996) is a wild read.

The whole mini series is full of cliché

romantic dialogue (or monologue since mostly it’s either Eddiie’s thoughts or hem talking to himself). The whole plot is a
cliché

romantic movie: Venom left Eddie because Eddie didn’t know how to cater Vanom’s hunger. Eddie got kidnapped by a mad scientist. Mad scientist told him Venom feeds on PEA . Eddie escaped to rescue a hunger-driven, half-madden Venom. He even set up a bomb so they can die together if he can’t turn Venom back. They fought. Eddie calmed Venom down, fed it PEA. Mad scientist kidnapped Venom. Eddie came to rescue the love of his life. They eat the bad guys while dancing and singing. Eddie learned that he shouldn’t take love for granted or he’ll lost it. They lived happily ever after. The end.

I suspect the writer played those elements as some kind of dark humor, but I bet no one at that time foressaw it became canon lmao (correct me if I’m wrong and they are always written as an odd couple).

It even said Eddie/Venom is a forbidden love… they are not meant to be biologically together but they still bonded because of True Love
