I think this has a lot to do with the fact that Chinese companies have
been building mines in Africa, mostly to try to control the market of
rare earth metals. They want to be seen as saviours for the “poor” local
people

Yeah, they had become the new colonizer, trying to control other countries through economy and real estates. It’s frustrating.
